State Pending Stage Comments
Albania 1st round As agreed during the visit of our MFA to Albania on 6-7 June 2008............and ............ support the conclusion of such treaty and request MF to act in this direction soon (KEBE letter dated 20.6.2008).



Algeria 1st round
in Nicosia
Decision of the Council of Ministers N. 67.391 dated 25.6.2008 authorizing the Minister of Finance to take all necessary actions for the signature of the Agreement soonest possible. No response to CY proposal for negotiations to start in Nicosia, 9-13.2.2009 OR 16-20.2.2009. Deadline for response 30.11.2008.
It is noted that negotiations for the conclusion of a DTA between Cyprus – Algeria started in 1997 but did not continue.



Armenia ® 2nd round
in Nicosia
No response to a number of CY proposals to continue the negotiations in Nicosia. Long outstanding.



Bosnia & Herzegovina 1st round
in Sarajevo
Obstacle to the conclusion of the negotiations the new OECD Article for the Exchange of Information. Problem resolved by the enactment of the Assessment and Collection of Taxes Amendment Law N. 72(I) of 2008. Negotiations to be resumed soonest possible so to remove Cyprus from Black List.
MFA request for dates to be proposed to Latvia in view of the visit of our Ambassador in Stockholm on 19.11.2008.
To clarify whether joint negotiations with the three Baltic States will continue (as started) for the conclusion of separate treaties with each State.
